| Subtopic & Speaker Information |

Education

Yu Liang Lin | Mr. Yu Liang Lin is the co-founder and CEO of Lead For Taiwan (LFT). His core focus is on critical thinking education. Having experienced the constraints of rote learning and examinations within the traditional education system, he was profoundly influenced by the critical and discussion-oriented class environment during his studies in France. This significantly changed his view on education. He realized that in the age of information overload, what Taiwan's education system lacks the most is a solid cultivation of critical thinking skills. Therefore, in 2018, Lin Youliang, along with friends, founded Lead For Taiwan with a clear goal: to promote the popularization of critical thinking education, enabling students not only to grasp textbook knowledge but also to deeply understand social issues and cultivate the critical thinking emphasized in the 108 Curriculum Guidelines.

The talk will center around "Critical Thinking Education," exploring the phenomenon of university students' apathy towards society and contemplating how education can awaken public concern. It will connect with NTNU's teacher education characteristics, starting from the experiences of both formal and informal educational practices. The speaker will share stories and cases to illustrate the possibilities of critical thinking education, leading the audience to rethink the essence of education and the significance of "thinking" in daily life.

Psychology

Sonny Lee | Currently, Sonny Lee serves as the Deputy Director of He Xin Psychological Counseling Center and is a full-time teacher at Tainan Nursing School. He has a long-standing collaboration with Tainan City Government and multiple social welfare and health agencies. Sonny Lee holds dual licenses as a counseling psychologist and social worker, specializing in expressive therapy, play and sand play therapy, trauma recovery, gender issues, and attachment relationships. With a core focus on psychodynamic approaches, he integrates psychology into life contexts, helping people re-understand themselves and their relationships. His Instagram account, "Appetizer Psychology," humorously and effectively promotes mental health education, adeptly explaining topics such as stress management, emotional resilience, parenting, and interpersonal communication, enabling participants to apply what they learn to enhance their psychological awareness in life and work.

This talk focuses on "Psychology," emphasizing interactions and self-awareness in emotional relationships. Psychologist Sonny Lee will present under the title "Every Relationship is a Prophecy," exploring how family of origin and past interpersonal experiences affect the development of our intimate relationships, and emphasizing the importance of understanding one's own needs. The content will be divided into four parts—reviewing past relationships, recognizing personal needs, correcting relationship patterns, and summarizing reflections—guiding the audience to discover the prophetic implications of relationships through understanding themselves and others, resonating with the theme of this year's conference, "Weaving Ahead, Foreseeing Ahead," which calls for self-insight and future actions.

Regional Revitalization & Sustainability

Meng Hao Liu | Meng Hao Liu, a young entrepreneur from Changhua, is a cross-disciplinary operator who owns the independent café "Hao Cafe" and has established a multi-concept creative sock store called "Hao Location." He is not merely a café owner; he is also deeply concerned about the development of local industries and culture. In recent years, with the textile industry relocating to China and Southeast Asia, the sock production industry in SheTou has become a sunset industry. Meng Hao Liu observed that the traditional industry's hard power and the local culture surrounding it could be amplified and appreciated as a story worth sharing. This observation motivated him to rally local youth to revitalize the industry. Consequently, he initiated the "Song Shi San Ri Festival." The name cleverly combines the Minnan word "Song Shi," meaning "easygoing," while its pronunciation echoes the English word "Sunset," metaphorically referring to the current status of the sock industry in SheTou as a sunset industry.

This talk will focus on "Local Revitalization and Sustainability," where the speaker will share personal experiences and insights, exploring the development and outcomes of local actions. Using four years of data from the "Song Shi San Ri Festival" as an example, he will present aspects such as spending amounts, labor input, on-site visitor numbers, and reached demographics to demonstrate the scale and impact of local revitalization efforts. Through a narrative supported by a visual presentation, the audience will gain a more intuitive understanding of how local actions gradually realize sustainability concepts.

Career Development

Jacky Wang | Jacky is the host of the popular podcast "Electric Escalator Walk Left," which focuses on self-growth and stepping out of comfort zones. The show's title is inspired by the left side of electric escalators, a daily shortcut that allows for rapid advancement beyond the crowd. Jacky often invites distinguished individuals to share their stories and thought frameworks on the program. His motto is "Action is the beginning of dreams" and "Discipline = Freedom," as he continuously challenges himself in both work and life.

On his 30th birthday, Jacky resigned from his five-year job at Instagram in New York, ending his career as a senior software engineer to explore more possibilities in life. He has worked at KKBOX, the Hong Kong startup 9GAG, and Facebook Messenger in Silicon Valley, accumulating numerous stories and cultural exchanges through product development and international experiences. Through this lecture, Jacky will share his journey of self-growth to inspire everyone to find their own "left side shortcut."

In the exhibition, you will see their thoughts and weave the first thread for the upcoming "Clairvoyant" annual conference.

The concept of "Clairvoyant" implies anticipating the future. Echoing the exhibition, it functions as a form of insight, leading the audience gradually to the central theme. On the other hand, "Weaving" embodies images of interconnection, representing the blending of different viewpoints, experiences, and stories to weave a multi-layered and meaningful cultural landscape.
By utilizing the homophonic design of "Knowing" and "Weaving," the event demonstrates foresight for the future and conveys the spirit of gathering forces for co-creation. Every participation experience jointly builds the full chapter of the annual conference.
The conference covers four main sub-themes: Psychology, Regional Revitalization & Sustainability, Education, and Career Development. We anticipate that speakers from diverse fields will inspire students and faculty to pay closer attention to social issues. By gaining broader perspectives, we aim to practice University Social Responsibility (USR) and achieve the common good within our community relationships.
