On September 9, 2026, the National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) was delighted to welcome Professor Jang Shin-ho, President of Seoul National University of Education (SNUE), and Professor Kim Bang Chul, Vice President of SNUE. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for the two institutions to strengthen their longstanding partnership, review their exchange experiences, and explore new opportunities for academic and educational collaboration.

The SNUE leadership was warmly received by President Chen Ching-Ho of NTUE and Professor Liu Yuan-Chen, Vice President of NTUE, together with Professor Lin Ying-Yu and Professor Chen Chien-Han, Directors of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), OIA staff members, and NTUE exchange students. An official from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education also accompanied the SNUE leaders. The meeting was also attended by representatives from NTUE's relevant academic and administrative units, including the Center for Research on Bilingual Education, the Master’s Program of Business Administration in Southeast Asia, the International Master’s Program of Learning and Instruction, the College of Science, and the Office of Teacher Education.

The visit began with a gift exchange between President Chen Ching-Ho and President Jang Shin-ho, symbolizing the close friendship and partnership between the two universities. Both presidents then delivered welcoming remarks, expressing their appreciation for the strong relationship between NTUE and SNUE and their commitment to further cooperation.

NTUE also presented a review of the history and development of exchanges between the two universities, highlighting past collaboration and the academic and cultural experiences shared by faculty members and students.

A highlight of the visit was a sharing session featuring two NTUE students who had recently returned from exchange programs at SNUE. Speaking in both English and fluent Korean, the students shared their experiences of campus life, interactions with local students, and cultural experiences in Korea. They also reflected on the knowledge, friendships, language skills, and broader international perspectives they gained through their exchange experiences. President Jang Shin-ho spoke highly of the students’ outstanding performance, particularly their confident communication in both English and Korean and their active engagement with Korean campus life and culture. Their presentations demonstrated the valuable outcomes of international student exchange and intercultural learning.

During the meeting, representatives from both universities exchanged views on inter-university cooperation, faculty and student interaction, and future academic and student exchange opportunities. They also discussed the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning, sharing ideas on how AI and emerging technologies could support innovative teaching approaches and enhance students’ learning experiences.  The discussions reflected NTUE and SNUE's shared commitment to advancing teacher education, international engagement, and educational innovation. Both sides expressed their enthusiasm for further strengthening their partnership and creating more opportunities for faculty and student collaboration.

The visit concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with both hosts and guests enjoying a pleasant and fruitful exchange. The occasion reaffirmed the close friendship between NTUE and SNUE and strengthened the foundation for future cooperation in teacher education, student and faculty exchange, intercultural learning, and educational innovation.  NTUE looks forward to continuing its close partnership with SNUE and creating further opportunities for academic exchange, student mobility, faculty collaboration, and educational innovation between Taiwan and Korea.
