The Master of Arts in Critical and Curatorial Studies of Contemporary Art (CCSCA) is a two-year, intensive, taught-in-English international graduate program, emphasizing both art criticism and curatorial studies, while providing students an opportunity to become familiar with discourses in contemporary art from various vantage points of the globe, especially the Asia Pacific region.

Launched in 2016 at the National Taipei University of Education, CCSCA is one of the very few programs of its kind that focuses on the study of art and curatorial practice not only in Taiwan but also in the Asia-Pacific. Given Taiwan’s central geographical location and growing importance as a vibrant and diverse artistic and cultural hub in Asia, CCSCA is well placed to facilitate a critical understanding of artistic and curatorial practices in East and Southeast Asia as well as the Pacific region.  With its practice-oriented, research-inspired approach to learning and teaching, the program aims to develop critical thinking, research and writing skills alongside theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary art and curating across the diverse historical, social and political contexts of the region.

Program highlights include:
  •  Focus on contemporary art and curating in the Asia-Pacific
  •  Integration of theory and practice
  •  Guest lectures and seminars from leading local and international art scholars, critics and curators
  •  Intensive gallery / museum internship
  •  Field excursions and overseas study trips
  •  Chinese language training program available on campus
  •  Scholarship offer
  •  Affordable tuition fee (approx NTD 52,600 per semester)
